My Name

Behind my name is a buffoon,
as people seem to think.
You would know the story behind it
if you'd just let me speak.

People call me Elieza
but it's really Eleeza.
I dislike that very much,
so I tell them call me Isa.

When my name is said wrong,
I am filled with bane.
But I really can't blame them
since it's just a name.

My name is unique,
it fits me well.
I like it a lot,
can't you tell?

I am named after my grandmother,
Maria Elisa was her name.
My name is very similar.
They are somewhat the same.

My name is different
like each letter in the alphabet,
it's not that simple though,
it's something like a volleyball set.

When people hear my name,
do they think of extrovert?
or do they think of garish?
Whatever, it doesn't really hurt.

  11. I like the rhyming and the fact that you repeatedly state how you love your name. It's also interesting how your name is from your grandmother. Great poem!
